They provide hosting solutions to suit most needs including small shared plans to powerful dedicated servers on both Linux and Windows boxes. Their E-commerce hosting plans come pre-bundled with the popular Miva Merchant E-commerce shopping cart system.
For those looking for cheap web hosting, Hostway will probably not be your first choice, although they do seem to be found in the middle of the pack. However, if price is not an issue and feature-rich plans with a large, solid hosting company is what you want, Hostway is definitely a good choice for you.
Price Value
Host Way offers several average hosting plans starting as low as $15.95 per month. The price plans are fair as they do come packed with many features and applications. Hostway offers both packages for small companies and personal websites up to dedicated and collocation server plans for larger organizations. Also, please check setup prices as Hostway does not include them on their hosting plan’s $39.95 and up one-time fee.
Reliability
Host Way consistently gets ranked as a leader in reliability by hosting industry watchdog Netcraft. Although we have heard of some issues in the past with respect to customer concerns, these issues seem to have been corrected. Hostway has over $100 million invested in their data centers.
Control Panel
Host Way uses its own custom-built control panel, called SiteControl, which can prove challenging for some experienced web users. This control panel can be rather simple and confusing, compared to industry standard control panels such as Cpanel, Plesk etc, and provides a somewhat limited degree of control. For beginning users, the control panel will seem very intuitive and less complex than others in the marketplace.
Customer Support
Telephone and email support are available from Hostway. Please keep in mind that telephone support is only available to members enrolled in the Gold Plan option and above, making this less of support and more "do it yourself". Those who sign-up for the Personal Linux hosting plan will have to make due with email support only, a major drawback compared to other web hosting companies.
