Review of BlueHost:
We used BlueHost ftp space to collaborate with another company. When that company uploaded a software update patch, BlueHost sysadmins noticed it and locked the account. That's reasonable, to allow time for investigation. However, they did not email me until after I had called them the next day to find out why we couldn't get into our server. That was when they let me know they had found what appeared to be copyrighted material. They re-activated the admin password so I could get in to remove the offending file. However, when I logged in, I discovered they had wiped our entire public_ftp folder, costing us 3 days to reconstitute the contents of the server.
Their tech support and customer support people always answer the phone promptly; their Abuse department is not as prompt, as they do not work 24/7. That's a problem when your account has been locked, and you need to resolve the situation.
BlueHost was not very helpful in offering any apologies or make-goods for our suffering at their hands. We're now considering other providers.
